Kyle Bunting – Hero of the Hide

Kyle Bunting Hide Rugs have been a favorite fascination to the design trade for the last year or two, but the current collection from neutrals to eye popping candy colors and designs are too fun not to share. This weeks designer’s showcase house, Maison de Luxe at Greystone Mansion featured some outrageous and inventive designs. Since I’m not allowed to post those pics and annoy my favorite people at Luxe Magazine, I’ll share some great hide rugs from the Kyle Bunting Hide Rug Collection.

Kyle Bunting single handedly dragged the hide rug into the contemporary realm. Continuing his inspration into art, furniture and wallcoverings… take a peak inside the American made, Austin studio of Kyle Bunting

Beginning with a simple cream geometric… Imagine how soft this natural hide, durable product feels to the touch and under foot…

Furlicious Home Accessories… Furry Finds For Fall

The fur trend is one that you may just have to indulge. Pick an item. Pick a room. From high-end showrooms to retail stores, snuggling up to one of these furlicious finds is one decision you won’t regret. Soft, relaxing, home accessories from throws to pillows to chairs, fur home decor is here this fall and winter. Don’t call PETA because if you don’t want to skin a four legged friend, there are great faux alternatives and it’s  a wonderful way to honor the beast within and a jungle friend. Fur Finds For Fall.

Furry girls are everywhere this season as faux fur has gone from the runway to the streets in the blink of an eye, so why not indulge at home, just a little? Not sure I can live without these goodies this season…

They’re like puppies you want to cuddle, without the maintenance.

For those more adventurous you can bump up your love of fur with a piece of friendly furniture. Even for modernists, one of these could pass muster.

I recently went hunting for one of these gems and if you’re anywhere cool who wouldn’t want to snuggle in the late night hours against this yummy blanket. Love It.

These belong in Hollyowood or Aspen, yummy, furry bedcovers…

The most daring can slip one of these into their Living Room. Sure to bring about some interesting conversation…

OK preposterous to some, sumptuous to others…

And lets not forget this little gem from last week’s post. Magazine holder. No pets harmed here, it’s made from horsehair…

And on my recent Vegas inspired project this fun lamp came past me while shopping.

Are Raccoons on the Peta list?  This one apparently got away…

Find your inner soft soft with one of these furry home accessories…

Barbara Barry 2011 Home Collection

I went to the sneak peak preview last week for the Barbara Barry Home Collection 2011 for Baker. I went home with my sumptuous new catalogue and fell in love with the Barbara Barry Collection all over again. The celebrated Barbara Barry, known for her clean and elegant designs, layers in some unexpected finishes like Linen Lacquer, Celestial textured metals and bronzes paired wtih dark and light stains alike… Barbara Barry Home 2011.

Replacing parchment with her Linen Lacquer finish featured above in her Barbara Barry Social Study cabinet. Elegant and livable, here paired with her signature dark stained wood and touches of metal, either nickel or burnished brass.

Crisp clean shapes create an envelope for the room so that the things we live with have a place to exist, says Barbara. In her description of the collection and lifestyle photo shoot. Barbara said, “These uncomplicated forms open up space, and ground the room; they embrace our unfolding lives without competing with them”

Terrific & simple shapes to choose from.

Swell Accent Table, Dark Bronze above.

Naturally, this shoot made me want to curl up with the catalog and a perfect cup of tea… oh yes, the swag bag naturally came with the most amazingly fragrant citrine tea. Oh, Barbara you think of everything.

When Jewelry Is Not Enough, Designer Gemstone Furnishings

I can’t help but notice the preponderance of fine gemstone furnishings from gemstone lamps & sconces to side tables and accessories. Gemstones have always held the allure of magical powers. Created from Earth’s inner core, gemstones have an energy field of their own. Influenced by geometrical form, color and subtle vibration. Designer showrooms are cropping up with signature, one-of-a-kind tables made from amethyst, crystalline and all variety of gemstone furnishings.

One guarantee is, no one will have one just like you. As all stones are inherently unique.  Who couldn’t use the healing zen qualities these natural beauties have to offer. The Miles lamp from Jan Showers is as regal is as it is natural.

A magical and symbiotic connection has always existed between human beings and gems. Petrified Stone Table above, Gavin Table, Matthew Studios.

This beautiful sconce from Matthew Studios is Crystalline and sure to dazzle.

Agate Nested Side Tables From Brenda Houston are selling off the floor at Holly Hunt, Los Angeles.

Evidence of gemstones used for healing has been found as far back as the 4th Millenium. Why not embellish a clean, modern interior with them?

Gemstones can be used for particular health needs, or to create harmonious vibrations and help with positive intentions for protection, prosperity, passion, recovery, clarity, love, good health peace and other blessings.

Gemstone Furnishings, when you want to add that healing power to your home add the healing power of crystal with a gemstone lamp.
